Making the Most of Shorter Days

I have a love/hate relationship with daylight savings time. On the one hand, I love how it gives you an extra hour of sleep this time of year. At the same time, I actually dislike how short days become once it hits.
I live in Missouri and have to deal with the fact that it starts getting dark outside at 5 pm once daylight savings time hits. I always hated that once school ended, I only had a couple of hours to enjoy things outdoors, which was lame since I wasn't allowed out after dark.
I had to learn to lean into what I call the indoor season, which meant developing some indoor hobbies. I can actually thank Daylight Savings Time for me being a reader like I am. This is the perfect time of year to collect and read books. It's especially cozy when you open a window while it's snowing, and you read with a view of all the snow outside.
It's also gaming season. I'm not the best gamer but whenever I do start gaming heavily, it's around this time of year.
But even with all of these indoor hobbies, I do hate the darkness all the time. Will be looking forward to the next Daylight Savings Time, but won't be looking forward to losing an hour of sleep....
Nice
I can relate. Except I've developed the habit of going outside regardless of time of day or weather
