My Bird Anniversary

I have been a bird owner for about 12 years. In just a few weeks will be the anniversary of when I got my first bird (I have owned 4 birds in my lifetime). I haven't always have the best of times with my birds. They are sometimes a pain. Sometimes, having them is hard work. But is quite worth it if you are as fond of these creatures as I am.

All I know is I have had four different birds, and each of them have had different personalities, though each of them are also quite similar in some respects. All four of them have an obsession with chewing my bedroom curtains to smithereens.

When I came across the budgie section in a pet store recently, I saw that budgies have doubled in cost! They used to be about 20 dollars. Now you'll have to dish out about 40 dollars if you want to bring a budgie home.

All I can say is that most of my budgies (with one sad exception), have lived a pretty long and happy life. I definitely have done a better job raising them than I did raising my fish in second grade. Those fish are... uh... another story...
